A Year in the Mianus River Gorge by William Abranowicz

A Year in the Mianus River Gorge by William Abranowicz

from $45.00

In 2013 William Abranowicz was granted unrestricted access to document the Mianus River Gorge, an historic 1000-acre land preserve forty miles outside New York City. Designated in 1964 as the first Natural Landmark within the United States, the Gorge provides a habitat for a vast array of wildlife, plants and fungi. Abranowicz -- who has returned to themes of unspoiled nature and environmental protection throughout his career -- captured the preserve’s trees, waterways and fields through all four seasons. His photographs depict a pristine and timeless ecosystem thriving nearly 65 years after the first organized effort to safeguard its resources.
