In Stephen Shore’s book Topographies: Aerial Surveys of the American Landscape, Shore revisits the subject of the American built environment from a new perspective: above. Photographed during the first two years of the Covid pandemic, Shore traveled throughout the United States with a commercially available drone outfitted with an onboard Hasselblad camera. The resulting images are a stunning use of technology and engrossing documents of specific locations at specific times.
