Guido Palau’s fourth book, Hidden Identities, presents Kaia Gerber in a vibrant selection of purposely low-quality iPhone film stills. Inspired by VHS films of the 1970’s and 1980’s, Palau styled collaborator Kaia Gerber in wigs collected on his travels. “Whenever I’m traveling, I go to wig stores and pick up wigs that I find interesting, but they’re not always used. I got together all the ones I really liked, and I decided to sort of do these kind of subversive, very character-forward wigs on Kaia,” Palau explains. Hidden Identities is as much a document of longtime friendship and creative collaboration, as it is a profile of a dynamic actor transforming under the guidance of a master artist.
